Dr. Justin Owens is a research scientist specializing in vulnerable road user safety at the UNC Highway Safety Research Center. Justin has been studying VRU safety issues for over 20 years, including safety for pedestrians, seniors, and people with disabilities and was a researcher for 15 years at VTTI prior to joining HSRC. He earned his doctorate in cognitive science from Brown University and his master's in human factors psychology from Clemson University.
