Speaker Bio
Jennifer Pearce, a South Carolina resident, is a talent acquisition consultant within the intelligence community. On Jan. 26, 2008, her 18-year-old sister, Nicole Lee, was killed in a drowsy driving car accident when the driver of her car fell asleep at the wheel. Jennifer and her family channeled their grief into advocacy hoping to prevent this from happening to other families. Since 2008, they have organized multiple events each year to raise awareness about the issue of drowsy driving, including providing coffee and information on the topic at highway rest stops in Maryland. They also created the Nicole Lee Memorial Scholarship award that is presented every spring. Since 2015, Jennifer has become a nationally recognized advocate on the issue, appearing on “The Today Show,” CBS, NBC, ABC, in publications like the Huffington Post and the Washington Post. She has worked with organizations including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, American Automobile Association, Lifesavers, and National Organizations for Youth Safety to raise awareness on this deadly issue.
