Lois Durso is an advocate for truck safety.  She received her B.A. in Communication and a Master’s degree from North Central College.  Lois did additional graduate work at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. After obtaining her Series 7 and 66 licensure, Lois practiced financial planning.  In November of 2004, Lois lost her beloved daughter Roya Christine to a side Underride truck crash.  After learning about truck underride, she began to advocate for underride protection on tractor-trailers and trucks by implementing a statewide billboard campaign in Illinois to raise awareness and promote media attention on truck safety.  Lois co-authored the Stop Underrides! Bill which was initially introduced on December 12, 2017 by Senators Gillibrand and Rubio. Since March of 2017, Lois has made dozens of trips to Washington, D.C. to educate and gain support for comprehensive underride legislation.
