Dr. Laura Sandt is co-Director of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Highway Safety Research Center (HSRC) and Director of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (www.pedbikeinfo.org), a national clearinghouse of bicycle- and pedestrian-related information sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration that provides leadership and technical guidance to communities on topics including health and injury prevention, equity and transportation disparities, pedestrian and bicycle safety, program evaluation, and transportation design and land use planning. She also directs a national University Transportation Center, the Collaborative Sciences Center for Road Safety (www.roadsafety.unc.edu). In this role, Laura has overseen research related to Safe Systems, micromobility, and safety data improvement and integration. Laura holds a PhD in Epidemiology and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning, both from the University of North Carolina.
