Kristofer Kusano a staff safety researcher and team leader at Waymo where he works on autonomous vehicle safety topics including injury risk estimation, safety impact methodologies, and scenario-based testing. Before joining Waymo, Kristofer worked at Toyota developing automation systems. Prior to that, he was a graduate student and postdoctoral researcher at Virginia Tech, studying safety benefits of active safety systems and modeling human behavior from naturalistic driving study data.
